Mountains & Sea

Applecross is an ideal centre for mountain walking, climbing and kayaking. The local corries, cliffs and peaks of Sgurr a' Chaorachain and Beinn Bann provide popular locations, with the Cioch Nose having national fame as a superb rock climbing route. The mountains of Torridon lie just to the north. These present a further range of mountaineering possibilities including the exposed ridge of Liathach, the towers and cliffs of Beinn Alligin and Triple Buttress. With its varied coastline dotted with skerries and bays, the close proximity of the Crowlin Islands to the south, and with the Isle of Raasay to the east, Applecross also provides excellent kayaking and marine wildlife watching opportunities.

Applecross Mountain & Sea Guides offer expert instruction in sea kayaking, with courses available by the week, day, half day or hour. Guided mountaineering courses are also available.
